Working Mothers are very busy mothers and have to juggle the family’s schedules and try to serve their families healthy nutritious meals.  With some planning you can do this and stay away from the fast-food, pre-packed meals, which are full of salt and additives.  Of course a “Big Mac” night occasionally is a treat always enjoyed by all.

Have a one day a week cook day.  Assemble some simple recipes to prepare and freeze so you have a nutritious home cooked meal, for several days ready.

A crock pot is a great way to have a meal ready when you need it.  You can put the ingredients in the pot, before leaving home for work and let cook all day and you and your family will have a delicious meal when you get home in the evening.  There are numerous crock pot cooking books available for purchase.

Family meals are a good time to catch up with the children and to offer them different types of food and teach healthy eating habits.  Try to schedule meals so the whole family can eat together, sometimes dinner will be delayed as a child, and especially one who is in sports will be a little late.

Working Mothers have to learn to be flexible.  Above all keep mealtime on a positive note with no arguing or lecturing.

Working Mothers and most parents know of the dangers to ones health in eating foods that are not organic.  The pesticides in non-organic foods are potentially harmful especially to the young children who are still growing.

Organic food is more expensive but to many well worth the cost to keep pesticides and artificial hormones, as in milk, out of our bodies.
